Abstract

John E. Lunn, M D, D P H, D P A, Lecturer in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, University of Sheffield. The postgraduate careers of I05 Sheffield medical women graduating between I930 and I952 are examined. More than half of the 8o per cent who were married had medically qualified husbands. Twothirds of these women were working. Wives of general practitioners were able to do more full-time medical work than other medical wives.
