Abstract

Objectives: This study was accomplished to determine the effect of teeth scaling coverage by the Korean National Health Insurance on oral health promotion behaviour and oral health interest of Korean adults. Methods: For this study, 165 adults were surveyed. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test and stepwise multiple regression analysis with SPSS 18.0 program. From the statistical analysis, following results were obtained. Results: First, participants scaling application base date change recognition factors were varied depending on the scaling satisfaction level and participants interest on insurance coverage on scaling. Second, as the level of interest on scaling insurance coverage increased by 1, the level of present oral health condition increased by 0.251, and this was statistically significant. Conclusions: The level of scaling satisfaction and present oral health condition affect on the interest of insurance coverage of teeth scaling could be drawn from this study. This study, which investigated possible correlation between scaling insurance coverage and oral health promotional behaviour, and interest on oral health can be helpful in further establishment on future dental insurance policies.
