Abstract

AbstractFan forward acoustic tester is immersed in the anechoic room. Under many working conditions, the Mach number in the intake flow tube is low, which affects the accuracy of flow measurement. Therefore, it is necessary to study its accuracy of flow measurement. Taking the intake flow tube of a fan forward acoustic tester as the research object, the variations of flow coefficient and flow measurement error with Mach number ranging from 0.09 to 0.51 are quantitatively analyzed by the numerical method, and their affecting factors are revealed, aiming to support the accuracy of flow measurement. The numerical model adopting SST turbulence model is reliable after the test data verification. The flow coefficient increases with Mach number, and it ranges from 0.985 to 0.989. The flow coefficient is mainly affected by the boundary layer and the static pressure distribution, both of which tend to decrease with the increase of Mach number. The main factor is boundary layer, which accounts for about 71%~78%. If the uneven static pressure distribution is ignored, a maximum flow measurement error of about 0.4% will be brought.KeywordsFlow tubeFlow coefficientStatic pressure distributionBoundary layerFlow measurement error
