Abstract

The principle of structural analysis by theε-method was investigated for a two dimensional multi-storied and multi-span rectangular rigid frame loaded vertically or horizontally, in cases where the base of columns of a rigid frame was constructed on the basis of theε-method, and various quantities were computed through this program. Theε-method, named by the authors, is one of the slope-deflection methods by which Tatumi(1) has already reported various results relating to end moments, angles of rotation of each joint and each member, and other aspects of the multi-storied and multi-span rectangular rigid frame in general, figuratively, using the calculation table. Finally, the results calculated by the digital computing program were shown in several figures in the present paper.
