Islamic radicalism in Indonesia has evolved from merely an ideology to a full-blown terrorist movement. In the context of the spread of Islamic radicalism in Indonesia, Banyumas Regency is categorized as a yellow zone, signifying it is under surveillance by Densus 88 and BNPT. Islamic radicalism is triggered by numerous factors, with one of the primary causes being a textualistic and non-comprehensive understanding of religious texts, including hadith. Particularly problematic are hadith with radical connotations. Islamic scholars play a crucial role in deradicalization discourse. Traditionally, Islamic scholars have been associated with the male gender; however, there are now many female scholars whose Islamic thought contributes significantly and is accessible to the public, including female scholars in Banyumas Regency. Through fieldwork involving observation, interviews, and document analysis, and subsequent data analysis using theories of textualist and contextualist understanding and Islamic moderation, it was found that female scholars in Banyumas Regency interpret hadith with radical connotations contextually and possess moderate Islamic thought and practices.

Abstract
This paper is intended to answer questions related to wasathiyah values, wasathiyah relations and peace, Islamic wasathiyah values in Islamic boarding schools as a modality for pesantren in realizing world peace, and how to promote it as a solution for world peace. After conducting the analysis, it was concluded that moderation (wasathiyyah) is a characteristic of Islam which is a combination and unification of the concepts of ta'adul, tawazun and tawassuth in every pattern of thought, pattern of action, and behavior. At the practical level, the form of moderation in Islam can be classified into four areas of discussion, namely, moderate in matters of aqidah, moderate in matters of worship, moderate in matters of temperament and character, moderate in matters of the formation of the Shari'a. Promoting and campaigning for wasathiyah values through pesantren education can prevent the emergence of radicalism in Indonesia and Muslim-majority countries in general. The promotion of wasathiyah Islam as strategic communication has an important role in maintaining Islamic education. Promoting wasathiyah in the context of Islamic boarding school education requires a balance between the process of delivering information and the process of self-transformation and the system. Knowledge sourced from the scientific tradition of Islamic boarding schools, when disseminated and interpreted in accordance with the wasathiyah concept, will eventually produce people who have strong faith, morality, moderation, and are able to understand and provide an understanding of Islam that is rahmatan lil `alamin.

  • Jaanika Erne

Purpose - The paper attempts at introducing the main differences in Islamic and Christian human rights thought.Design/methodology/approach – The paper uses the Old and New Testament, the Qur’an and the European Convention on Human Rights as ideological-theoretical framework with the aim to compare religions and values with the aim to define the compared religions. Definition of religions helps to better understand the tensions of a political character, an example brought by Jacob Neusner is the relationship between the State of Israel and its Muslim neighbors, served as a religious conflict (Neusner 1999: xi).Findings - Although already the ten commandments in the Christian tradition and Islamic tradition to a great extent overlap, formulation of rights and interpretation of rights to a great extent differ in these traditions. The differences result even in the assertions that distinguish, the Islamic marketing approach from (not to say oppose to) the marketing approach in the Western countries by Islamic scholars who view the Western marketing approach as secular marketing approachResearch limitations/implications – Although understanding that there exist different understandings of what Islam is – for example, people talk about radical Islam and moderate Islam, the research compares the basic concepts of Christianity and Islam.Practical implications - Marketing is strongly connected with culture and traditions, and understanding of those by people. The paper brings in also the external aspects of Islamic marketing.Originality/value – In addition to just comparing and understanding religions, the paper tries to distinguish religions from political ideologies.

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Banyumas Regency is one of the districts with quite high Tuberculosis cases in Central Java. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the number of tuberculosis cases in Banyumas Regency using regression analysis of count data. Poisson regression is the simplest count data regression model that has the assumption of equidispersion, that is, the mean value equal to the variance. However, in its application, these assumption is often not fulfilled, for example, there are cases of overdispersion (variance value is greater than the mean). In this study, to overcome the case of overdispersion, an approach was used using Generalized Poisson Regression (GPR) and negative binomial regression. The results showed that the data on the number of tuberculosis cases in Banyumas Regency in 2019 was overdispersion. The data modeling of the number of tuberculosis cases in Banyumas Regency with the negative binomial regression model is better than the GPR model. Meanwhile, the only predictor variable that affects the number of tuberculosis cases in Banyumas Regency is the sex ratio of productive age (15-49 years).
