Abstract

In this paper a stacked modified Sierpinski's gasket fractal antenna is presented to achieve dual band behavior and wide bandwidth for satellite down link and uplink application in C-band D/L 4Ghz (3.82Ghz-4.38Ghz) and U/L 6Ghz (5.92Ghz-6.19Ghz) bands respectively. It is designed with proximity feeding technique using FR4 (∊ r =4.4) substrate and height of the substrate h=1.6mm. Based on self similar properties modified to 2nd iteration antenna is proposed. The antenna has two resonance frequencies about 4Ghz and 6Ghz. About 500 MHz & 300MHz bandwidth has been achieved, which are reasonably high for satellite communication. The performance properties of antenna such as return loss, VSWR has been shown. Proposed antenna has been simulated using IE3D software.
