Abstract
A generalized Veneziano model which describes the three-body reactions K + p→ K oπ + p, K − p→ K oπ − p , and π −p→K o K −p is applied to study the two-body reactions K − p→ K o n, K + n→ K o p, π − p→ K oΛ , K −n→ π − Λ, which are given by the three-body amplitude at the nucleon and lambda pole. With no free parameters it is found that with one exception one can give a simultaneous description of these two and three-body reactions at energies between 2.5 and 13 GeV/ c, and at all momentum transfers except the extreme forward (− t<0.2 GeV/ c 2) and extreme backward (− u<0.2 GeV/ c 2) directions. The one exception to this description is briefly discussed.
