Abstract
We present here measurements on a wire-pad gas detector. The detector resolution is derived from the charge profile and the electronic noise. All data are compared to a model. The useful length of the detector is 8 cm and the measured FWHM mean-spatial resolution is around 110 μm. The electronics relies essentially on a single chip, the GASSIPLEX, connected to a low-end ADC and PC, the later two elements defining the acquisition speed.
