Abstract

Summary
A simple method is described for demonstrating erythrocytic inclusions using unstained blood films and a standard microscope. It involves inserting an inverted eyepiece beneath the substage condenser. The results indicate useful clinical application in the diagnosis of the absent spleen syndrome. It will also demonstrate the presence of inclusions in red cells in some other haematological diseases.
