Abstract

In this paper, a logistic type of model with periodic coefficients (time-dependent periodic growth and death rates) is used to simulate the growth and optimal harvesting of a type of seaweed. Applying a result of the optimal periodic control theory, we obtain an optimal annual harvesting strategy which has the same period as that of the seaweed growth and death rates.
