Abstract

This paper proposes a simple methodology for optimal tuning of fuzzy logic controller (FLC) oriented to control a prototype variable speed wind turbine (VSWT) who utilizes a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). The proposed methodology makes to obtain the appropriate input and output scaling factors of the fuzzy control system for realizing a warranted performance control while reducing the necessary time in the tuning of the fuzzy controller. Simulation results show the superior performance of FLC controller in comparison with PI one and the proposed methodology was successfully validated.
