Abstract
A comparison of conventional gamma spectrometer and liquid scintillation counting methods was made using gamma-emitting isotopes employed in studies of antigen-antibody interactions and cell-mediated immunity. Results indicate that 125Iodine and 51Chromium can be counted with equal, if not greater efficiency by a liquid scintillation detector than with a conventional gamma spectrometer. The method described is rapid, inexpensive, sensitive and has wide application in research and clinical laboratories.
