A circuit technique to measure a small difference between two resistors or small changes in a transducer resistance is designed by employing a dual-slope analogue-to-digital converter with a multiplexed preamplifier. A 3.5-digit, 0.1 degrees C resolution, 3-lead platinum thermometer was built successfully.
