Summary This paper provides brief information on Internet, EUROSTEP, EUROPACE 2000, EADTU and the SOCRATES programme, the addresses of open universities and distance learning higher education institutions in Europe, as well as some chronological data concerning the foundation of other distance learning institutions in Africa, Asia, Australia, International, Israel, Latin America and the UK.
