Abstract
In the world of engineering, little stays the same. IEEE Std 1057, the IEEE Standard for Digitizing Waveform Recorders, has been in use for over 5 years, and it is time to reevaluate it. This paper discusses in detail the goals of this reevaluation and solicits help from the international community in achieving those goals.
