Abstract

It is with sadness and deep regret that we hear of the passing of the Associated Examination Board's A level in electronic systems. According to information released, the summer examination in 1994 is the last time this syllabus will be examined. This is a tragedy. The movement to introduce electronics into schools made one of its early leaps forward by the introduction of this syllabus in the late 1970s. This syllabus laid much of the groundwork for O level and GCSE electronics and introduced terminology and concepts that have found their way into the National Curriculum.
