Abstract

Peronism and antiperonism defined the pattern of rivaltry Brazil-Argentine in the context of early cold war. Numerous Brazilian diplomatic documents –letters, orders, memoranda, telegrams- dating from the years 1946 to 1948 presented in their titles issues such as Argentina’s infiltration in Southern Brazil, Argentina's political expansionism, expansionist policy of Argentina , etc. We can say that the anti-Peronism was consolidated in leading sectors of the country through a policy that exceeded, in some way, to Peronism. For example, the idea that Argentina was seeking to expand its sphere of influence in South America dates back at least to the period before World War II. Thus, identifying how anti-Peronism was built in Brazil allows evaluating more specifically what interests and what sectors provided opposite visions to bilateral dialogue.
