Abstract
A ring opening rearrangement reaction of 6β-hydroxytropinone resulted in the novel bicyclic oxazolidine 2. Hydrolysis of 2 with hydrochloric acid in methanol provided 6β-hydroxytropinone and 6α-hydroxytropinone.
