Abstract

Phytochemicals have proved extremely beneficial to societies all throughout the world. Healthcare organizations have employed these metabolites as medications to treat a range of illnesses. Moreover, phytochemicals are employed as lead molecules in pharmaceutical synthesis. The foundation of research on natural products is the extraction of chemicals from plant materials. The search for more effective extraction techniques has been ongoing. Similarly, a number of exciting new green extraction techniques are beginning to take centre stage. These include enzyme-assisted extraction, accelerated solvent, supercritical fluid, ultrasound, and microwave techniques. The many extraction methods that are used to extract phytochemicals from various plant sections are described and discussed in this article. Among these extraction methods are the traditional solvent-based methods as well as the more resilient contemporary and environmentally friendly methods. The review examines the extraction circumstances critically. Keywords : Extraction, Conventional and modern techniques , Principle and Mechanism , soxhlet apparatus , solvent extraction.
