Abstract
This research includes a literature search and review of geotextile usage in pavement construction. The pavement quality is affected by the materials used in sub-grade. This study will give a review of using geosynthetics for improving the life of pavement and also provide the design guidelines, material specifications, performance standards, and construction processes. Geosynthetics act as reinforcement and increases the performance of the bearing capacity of the soil. According to the findings of extensive study, geogrids offer more potential for reinforcing flexible pavements than geotextiles. The present study shows that there in usage of geosynthetics, the maximum California bearing ratio can be obtained and it will also help the engineers and contractors in selection of materials for better result and economy.
