Abstract

This paper summarizes the review of various Low Voltage Ride Through (LVTR) strategies and techniques under unbalanced grid faults. The LVRT requirements in various countries are summarized. In addition to that the transitions and the short-circuit of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) under unbalanced conditions are analyzed. An exhaustive review of control strategies and protection is presented. It can be concluded that the discrimination of unbalanced faults and the corresponding solutions should be invested more attention and research.
