Abstract
This chapter addresses the questions that come up when approaching a study of images in international relations, and it describes how the process of analysis is conducted. The strengths of applying the concept of triangulation to the three sources of data, analysis of press articles, semistructured expert interviews and statistical data are stressed, similar to the gains that the diverse case design brings to a study that chooses four press organs as representatives of a larger population. Accordingly, the application of content and discourse analysis as tools to decipher tendencies and allow for a deep analysis of the issues in question is described.
