Abstract
This article is the result of a study on the livelihood of fishery workers, seeks to understand the relationship between networks of marketing fishing in the Brazilian Amazon and the working conditions and income from this activity as a major livelihood of rural communities located in the region of the Solimoes river in Amazonas State, Brazil. The changes occurring in development models adopted for the Amazon in the second half of the twentieth century led to the diversification of social production relations and productive forces of the capitalist mode of production in the Brazilian Amazon, especially regarding the use of natural resources. One of these manifestations can be considered from the organization of work of fisheries, as this came to be practiced as a commercial activity, creating a greater dependency as the main source of income of families located in rural communities.
