Abstract

The work presented in this paper is motivated by the strong differences found in the automotive and the semiconductor industry with respect to supply chain planning philosophies as well as long-term and short-term supply chain flexibility. This paper will present a reference model which outlines measures for the dimensions of strategy, processes, technology, and IT systems to improve collaborative supply chain planning and control. This allows for a more efficient coordination of production capacity and a better response to demand fluctuations in the automotive and semiconductor industry.
