Abstract

Grancrete PCW, a new inorganic composite material, has favourable properties compared with Portland cement because of rapid setting, excellent fire and heat resistance, etc. In order to strengthen shield tunnel rapidly, a rapid setting binder, namely Grancrete concrete (GC) binder, based on Grancrete PCW for textile-reinforced concrete, was developed. The uniaxial test of GC binder and the experiment of shield tunnel strengthened by textile-reinforced concrete were conducted. The results show that compared with fine-grained concrete commonly used as the binder for textile-reinforced concrete, the GC binder has an excellent penetration property; the textile-reinforced concrete with the GC binder can play the role in 2 hours. Finally, the action mechanism of the GC binder and the fine-grained concrete was discussed by conducting SEM experiment.
