Abstract
One of the major applications of Pseudo-Random Numbers is cryptography. Cryptography is a technique of securing information and communications through the use of codes so that only those people for whom the information is intended can understand it and process it thus preventing unauthorized access to information. Attackers can bypass cryptography, hack into computers that are responsible for data encryption and decryption, and exploit weak implementations, such as the use of default keys. To tackle this problem, logistic chaotic maps are used to generate a Pseudo-Random Binary Sequence (PRBS). The output of the designed PRBS Generator has successfully passed all the performance assessments of the NIST test suite. Hence a highly efficient Cryptographic Pseudo Random Bit Sequence Key is developed which not only has good performance in terms of statistical properties but can also achieve high product throughput if realized by FPGA hardware.
