Abstract

A small protalus rampart has been identified near the head of ihe Pigeon Rock River valley in the western Mourne Mountains. A Zone III or Lough Nahanagan Stadial age for this feature is inferred from its morphological characteristics and from its relation to the adjacent topography. Its elevation is consistent with the hypothesis of an easterly rising Zone III snowline in Ireland.
