Abstract
We prove a posteriori estimates in the energy norm for the deviation of an arbitrary function v from the minimizer u of the nonlinear variational problem for an integral functional with power type integrand. The majorant M in these estimates depends only on v and data of the problem, but is independent of the exact solution u. Moreover, M = M(v) → 0 as v → 0 and M(v) = 0 only if v = u.
