Abstract

Purpose: Osteoarthritis is a serious, multifactorial disease associated with multi-morbidity, low physical activity and a high risk of premature mobility-related disability. Frailty, a decline across multiple physiological systems in the body, is associated with higher risk of adverse health outcomes and presents as a potential modifiable risk factor among individuals with osteoarthritis. Despite their overlap, few investigations have been dedicated to clarifying the role of frailty in complex osteoarthritis populations.
