Dawis is Director of the Counseling Psychology Program and a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota — Minneapolis, where he is also an advisor to doctoral and master's degree candidates. With Lloyd H. Lofquist, Dawis is co-principal investigator of the Work Adjustment Project and coauthor of Adjustment to Work. In 1967, he was a co-winner of the APGA Research Award and he has won the ARCA Research Award three times.
