Abstract

Open vSwitch, a new virtual switch that was purpose-built for use in virtualized environments. Open vSwitch differs from traditional approaches in that it exports an external interface for fine- grained control of configuration state and forwarding behavior. We present how Open vSwitch run on Linux-based virtualization platform, KVM. We then present the result of several experiements performed in both WiFi and 3G enviorments, using bandwidth, packet lost rate, and response time as the metrics for comparison.
