Abstract

This paper proposed a novel direct power control (DPC) scheme of a three-phase pulse width-modulated rectifier, which solves the problem that classical DPC can't adjust the active power and reactive power in a balanced way. Compared to the classical DPC, the proposed scheme considers the balance of the active and reactive power. When the difference between the active and reactive power tracking errors is over the setting level, the switching states which can narrow the difference should be selected. The proposed DPC can adjust the active and reactive power effectively at the same time. It is tested in simulations, and the results have proven that the proposed one has a better performance than the classical one.
