Abstract
Camera calibration is a key technology in the field of computer vision. And camera self-calibration is one of the methods about camera calibration. It can calculate the camera intrinsic parameters only by the geometrical information between the images. In this paper, we propose a novel method which is combined with the Matlab calibration toolbox and genetic algorithm to solve the camera intrinsic parameters. First, by using Matlab calibration toolbox, we obtain the initial camera intrinsic parameters. And then we apply the genetic algorithm to optimize the obtained parameters. Through generations of evolution, selection, mutation, finally we get the camera intrinsic parameters optimal solution. Our method is simple and effective, and it has a certain theoretical significance and practical value to realize the fast calibration of the camera and ensure the accuracy and reliability of the camera calibration.
