Abstract
In recent years, energy efficiency gains more and more attention in real-time embedded system for the incerasing application of embedded system. Many methods have been developed by means of the Dynamic Voltage Scaling (DVS) which use the slack time to adjust supplied voltage so as to decrease the energy expense. Unfortunately, how to optimally adjust supplied voltage is a NP-complete problem. Therefore, we devise a dynamic power saving scheduling scheme with the Excenics-based Dynamic Voltage Scaling mechanism(E-DVS) which makes use of the extenics relational function to calculate and predict the completion time and the system supply voltage in this paper. Experiments are conducted to compare E-DVS with Proportional DVS and Greedy DVS.The The results of both analyzing in theory and experiments demonstrate that our approach outperforms the aforementioned methods in reducing the energy consumption and the overhead with E-DVS is trivial and can be ignored.
