Abstract
recent paper The cotha( ) expansion method and its application to the Davey{Stewartson (Applied Mathematical Sciences 8 (2014) 3851{3868) is analyzed. We show that the authors solved equations with the well known general solutions. two rst solutions of paper correspond to the equation for the Weierstrass elliptic function and the two other solutions can be obtained from the general solution for the second-order linear ordinary dierential equation for free oscillations.
