Abstract
A new variance estimator for estimating the population total has been proposed under unequal probability sampling without replacement in the presence of nonresponse. The new variance estimator does not require the joint inclusion probability in the estimation under the reverse framework where the sampling fraction is negligible and equal response probabilities for all units. The efficiency of the new estimator is compared with the existing estimators7 via a simulation study.
