Abstract

We present an original set-up for the determination of the polarizability anisotropy Δα of polar molecules in solution. The technique is based on electric field-induced ellipsometry measurements and the analysis takes into account the contributions of the orientational birefringence and the electro-optic Pockels effect to the total refractive index change of the studied solutions.
