  • Minghua Zhou

To analyze the equity and efficiency of health resource allocation in township health centers in Sichuan Province, and to provide a scientific basis for promoting the development of township health centers in Sichuan Province, China. The Lorenz curve, Gini coefficient and health resource density index were used to analyze the equity of health resource allocation in township health centers in Sichuan Province from 2017 to 2021, and data envelopment analysis(DEA) was used to analyze the efficiency of health resource allocation in township health centers in Sichuan Province from 2017 to 2021. The Gini coefficient of health resources of township health centers in Sichuan Province is below 0.2 by population in addition to the number of beds in 2020-2021 and practicing (assistant) physicians in 2021, and the Gini coefficient of health resources of township health centers in Sichuan Province is above 0.6 by geography. The Lorentz curve of health resources of township health centers in Sichuan Province is closer to the equity line by population allocation and further from the equity line by geographical allocation. The average level of township health centers in Sichuan Province is used as the standard to calculate the health resource density standard index(W) of each region, the Ws of Panzhihua, Ganzi, Aba and Liangshan are less than 1, and the Ws of Ziyang, Neijiang, Deyang and Meishan are greater than 1. The overall efficiency of township health centers in Sichuan Province in 2017 and 2021 is 1, and the DEA is relatively effective. The overall efficiency of township health centers in Sichuan Province in 2018 and 2019 is not 1, and the DEA is relatively ineffective. The overall efficiency of all health resources in Mianyang and Ziyang is 1, and the DEA is relatively effective. The overall efficiency of all health resources in Suining, Neijiang, Yibin, Aba and Ganzi is not 1, and the DEA is relatively ineffective. The equity of health resource allocation by population is better than that by geography in township health centers in Sichuan Province. Combining population and geographical factors, the health resource allocation of Panzhihua, Ganzi, Aba and Liangshan is lower than the average level of Sichuan Province. The efficiency of health resource allocation in township health centers in Sichuan Province is low.

  • Yanzhao Zhu + 11 more

Camphora longepaniculata is an endangered evergreen tree listed as National Class II Protected Tree Species in China, highly valued for its medicinal and economic importance. Currently, research on this species has primarily focused on its pharmaceutical properties, while its potential distribution and responses to climate change remain insufficiently explored. In this study, 36 valid occurrence records and 11 environmental variables were utilized to predict its potential distribution and assess its response to future climate scenarios. The MaxEnt model revealed that the current distribution of C. longepaniculata largely aligns with its predicted suitable habitats, with the primary range located in Sichuan Province. Furthermore, this model identified the highly suitable habitats to be predominantly concentrated in Sichuan and Shaanxi Provinces under climate change. Among the environmental variables, annual precipitation (bio12), minimum temperature of the coldest month (bio6), and elevation (dem) were the most influential, collectively contributing over 70% to the model’s predictive accuracy. Future climate projections compared to the current distribution suggest a northward expansion of suitable habitats for C. longepaniculata, although Sichuan Province is predicted to remain the core habitat under future scenarios. Kernel density analysis of occurrence points indicated that the largest concentration of distribution points is near the Sichuan Basin, reinforcing the importance of this region as a stronghold for the species. Based on the results of potential distribution and kernel density analysis, in situ conservation, artificial cultivation, and the establishment of wild protected areas and local germplasm banks are recommended for stable, suitable habitats, such as Sichuan Province and parts of Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces. This study not only sheds light on the potential geographical distribution of C. longepaniculata and its response to climate change but also provides a scientific basis for the development of targeted conservation strategies for this species.

The Research on the Measurement of Coupled Coordination Degree of “Five Modernization” in Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan Provinces
  • Jan 15, 2020
  • DEStech Transactions on Social Science, Education and Human Science
  • Xue-Qian Xu

Taking Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces in Southwest China as the research object, this paper establishes a comprehensive measurement system for the degree of coordinated development of industrialization, agricultural modernization, urbanization, informatization and greenization, and uses the entropy evaluation method to assign the indicators and determine the types of coordination stages of each province. The results show that: (1) The comprehensive development index of the five modernization of the three provinces are rising continuously, the development of urbanization is the best, and the degree of informationization and greenization is significantly backward. (2) From 2010 to 2017, the overall coordination degree of the five modernization in the three provinces displays an upward trend, but there was a drop in Yunnan Province. In 2010, the coordination of the three provinces was in a state of imbalance, and the imbalance in Guizhou Province was the most serious. In 2017, Sichuan Province had reached a stage of high-quality coordination, while Yunnan and Guizhou provinces were in a good stage of coordination.

Fungal diversities and community assembly processes show different biogeographical patterns in forest and grassland soil ecosystems.
  • Feb 1, 2023
  • Frontiers in Microbiology
  • Min Wang + 6 more

Soil fungal community has been largely explored by comparing their natural diversity. However, there is a relatively small body of literature concerned with fungal community assembly processes and their co-occurrence network correlations carried out across large spatial-temporal scales with complex environmental gradients in natural ecosystems and different habitats in China. Thus, soil fungal community assembly processes were assessed to predict changes in soil function in 98 different forest and grassland sites from the Sichuan, Hubei, and Hebei Provinces of China using high-throughput sequencing of nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS-2). The 10 most abundant fungal phyla results showed that Ascomycota was the most abundant phylum in forests from Sichuan province (64.42%) and grassland habitats from Hebei province (53.46%). Moreover, core fungal taxa (487 OTUs) represented 0.35% of total fungal OTUs. We observed higher fungal Shannon diversity and richness (the Chao1 index) from diverse mixed forests of the Sichuan and Hubei Provinces than the mono-cultured forest and grassland habitats in Hebei Province. Although fungal alpha and beta diversities exhibited different biogeographical patterns, the fungal assembly pattern was mostly driven by dispersal limitation than selection in different habitats. Fungal co-occurrence analyses showed that the network was more intense at Saihanba National Forest Park (SNFP, Hebei). In contrast, the co-occurrence network was more complex at boundaries between forests and grasslands at SNFP. Additionally, the highest number of positive (co-presence or co-operative) correlations of fungal genera were inferred from grassland habitat, which led fungal communities to form commensalism relationships compared to forest areas with having higher negative correlations (mutual exclusion or competitive). The generalized additive model (GAM) analysis showed that the association of fungal Shannon diversity and richness indices with geographical coordinates did not follow a general pattern; instead, the fluctuation of these indices was restricted to local geographical coordinates at each sampling location. These results indicated the existence of a site effect on the diversity of fungal communities across our sampling sites. Our observation suggested that higher fungal diversity and richness of fungal taxa in a particular habitat are not necessarily associated with more complex networks.

Morpho-Phylogenetic Evidence Reveals Neokeissleriella gen. nov. and Three Novel Species of Lentitheciaceae from Grasses (Poaceae)
  • Dec 24, 2025
  • Journal of Fungi
  • Yong-Xiu Yu + 2 more

The Poaceae family, commonly known as grasses, is one of the most strategically important plant groups on earth. They are globally distributed, found in virtually every terrestrial habitat on earth, from deserts and grasslands to forests and wetlands. An investigation was conducted on the fungi associated with grasses in Sichuan and Guizhou Provinces, China. Based on morphological characteristics and multi-locus phylogenetic analyses (from Maximum Likelihood (ML) and Bayesian Inference (BI)) of combined LSU, SSU, ITS, and tef1-α sequence data, a new genus, Neokeissleriella, and three novel species—Keissleriella guttata, K. sichuanensis, and Neokeissleriella fusispora—were introduced. Two new host records of Keissleriella caraganae, K. yunnanensis and a new geographical record of K. gloeospora in Sichuan Province, China, are reported. To substantiate the newly established taxa, detailed morphological descriptions and illustrations are provided and supported with molecular phylogenetic analysis. This study broadens the understanding of fungal diversity on Poaceae hosts in Sichuan and Guizhou provinces, China, revealing the high potential for identifying novel taxa.

Spatiotemporal distribution of newly diagnosed echinococcosis patients in Sichuan Province, China, 2013-2024.
  • Aug 4, 2025
  • PLoS neglected tropical diseases
  • Wei He + 13 more

Echinococcosis is a zoonotic parasitic disease that significantly endangers public health and hinders socioeconomic development. Sichuan Province is a mixed endemic area of cystic echinococcosis (CE) and alveolar echinococcosis (AE), and it has one of the most severe epidemics of echinococcosis in China. In 2012, the national epidemiological sampling survey of echinococcosis revealed that the prevalence rate of echinococcosis among the population in Sichuan Province was 1.08%, significantly higher than the national average (0.24%). In this study, the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of newly diagnosed patients with echinococcosis in Sichuan Province from 2013 to 2024 were analyzed, providing a reference for identifying key areas of echinococcosis and developing targeted prevention and control strategies. Data on the number of individuals screened for echinococcosis and the number of newly diagnosed patients in endemic counties were obtained from the annual reports of the Sichuan Provincial Echinococcosis Control Program between 2013 and 2024. The detection rate of newly diagnosed echinococcosis patients was calculated for each year. County-level electronic maps of Sichuan Province were downloaded from the National Geographic Information Public Service Platform. The spatial distribution map of the detection rate of newly diagnosed patients with echinococcosis in Sichuan Province was created using ArcGIS software, and global and local spatial autocorrelation analyses were conducted. Spatiotemporal scanning analysis of the detection rate of newly diagnosed echinococcosis patients in Sichuan Province was conducted using SaTScan software. From 2013 to 2024, the total detection rate of newly diagnosed patients with echinococcosis in the endemic areas of Sichuan Province was 55.77/100,000, with the detection rates of CE and AE being 36.71/100,000 and 19.88/100,000, respectively. The total detection rate of newly diagnosed patients with echinococcosis, as well as that of CE and AE, demonstrated a decreasing trend year by year (χ2 = 1,054.785, 925.936, 196.018; P < 0.001). The detection rate of CE was higher than that of AE between 2013 and 2021; however, this trend was reversed between 2022 and 2024. In terms of spatial distribution, areas with higher detection rates were primarily concentrated in the northwestern part of Sichuan Province, whereas areas with lower detection rates were mainly distributed in the southeastern part of the province. The global spatial autocorrelation analysis results revealed that the total detection rate of newly diagnosed echinococcosis patients exhibited spatial clustering in 2013-2016, 2018, 2020, and 2024. The detection rate of newly diagnosed CE patients exhibited spatial clustering in 2013, 2014, and 2022. The detection rate of newly diagnosed patients with AE exhibited spatial clustering in 2013-2018, 2020, and 2023. Local spatial autocorrelation analyses revealed that the "high-high" clustering areas of the total detection rates, CE and AE detection rates were concentrated in the northwestern and northern parts of the endemic areas, while the "low-low" clustering areas were concentrated in the southeastern parts of the endemic areas. Spatiotemporal scanning analysis revealed that the most important clusters of newly total diagnosed echinococcosis and CE patients in Sichuan Province were mainly located in Shiqu, Seda, Baiyu, Ganzi, Dege, Xinlong, Luhuo, Aba, and Rangtang counties. The most important clusters of patients with AE were mainly in Shiqu, Seda, Baiyu, Ganzi, Dege, and Rangtang counties. The results demonstrated that the detection rate of newly diagnosed patients with echinococcosis in Sichuan Province decreased annually between 2013 and 2024, exhibiting significant spatial clustering. The western Sichuan Qinghai Tibet Plateau region is a "hot spot" for echinococcosis in the Sichuan Province population. It is recommended that relevant departments develop precise prevention and control strategies for the current areas of clustering.
