Abstract
In this paper, we give a new and straightforward method to solve the non-homogeneous second-order linear difference equations with constant coefficients. It is new because it does not require the uniqueness theorem of the solution of the problem of initial values. Neither does it require a fundamental system of solutions, nor the method of variation of parameters. Moreover, we get a unique formula that expresses the general solution independently of the multiplicities of the roots of the characteristic equation.
