Abstract

Rambutanura n.gen. is proposed to include the new species Rambutanura yoshiiana n.sp. from Thailand and two other species previously described as Acanthanura dawydoffi Denis, 1934 (from Vietnam) and Womersleya malayana Yosii, 1976 (from Malaysia). The new genus belongs to the subfamily Neanurinae, but it displays a set of atypical characters, such as the differentiation of long tegumentary digitations and strong antennal plurichaetosis. In addition, R. yoshiiana has very large salivary glands in which each lobe gp2 and gp3 contains about 100 cells with highly polytenic nuclei.
