Abstract

This paper presents a new configuration for direct torque control (DTC) of six-phase induction motor (SPIM). In the proposed method, direct torque and flux control are applied to the SPIM using matrix converter with the conventional three-phase source as its input. The new DTC scheme for SPIM benefits the advantages of both DTC and matrix converter. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method in both dynamic and steady state response.
