Abstract
THE electrodeless induction method of measuring electrical conductivity has certain advantages in a number of cases over the usual methods of measurement, making it relatively simple to measure the cond uctivity of a substance over a wide temperature range both in the solid and the liquid states. An analysis of different possible induction arrangements ~-9 shows that the most convenient and developed method up to now is the so-called 'rotating magnetic field method'. 1 In this method the electrical conductivity of a specimen a is determined from the magnitude of the moment of the forces M, acting on a conducting sphere of radius R, placed in a rotating magnetic field o£-amplitude Ho and frequency co. The relation between the electrical conductivity of the substance and the moment is determined by the relation
