Abstract

The authors have developed a novel algorithm to compute body surface Laplacians in an inhomogeneous volume conductor with arbitrary shape. Computer simulation results demonstrate that the new algorithm provides significant reduction in computation as compared to the previously reported numerical algorithm. The present promising results suggest that the newly developed algorithm is an excellent alternative for evaluation of the body surface Laplacian maps, which may greatly facilitate the forward and inverse problems with regard to Laplacian ECG.
