Abstract

This paper approach to a new adaptive vortex flowmeter. First, it analyses the basic principles of vortex flowmeter and the statistical characteristics of the output signal and noise of vortex frequency transducer; second, it compares the methods of signal processing of present vortex flowmeters and points out it's fault and weakness in practice use. From the aspect of signal processing this paper proposes a new method_____"Adaptive Measurement of Frequency" (AMF) which combining the adaptive filtering and power spectral analysing to improving the the measurement accuracy of vortex flowmeter. This method is a quick and efficient one for measuring or estimating the frequency of signal which is interfered by random noise and interefrence. Based on AMF, by use of microprocessor, we can construct a new adaptive vortex flowmeter which has a high accuracy not only in design state, but also in practise use. Theory analyses and experiment results have proved the effectiveness of this new method to improve the measurement accuracy of vortex flowmeter in practice use.
