Abstract

The current understanding of Alzheimer disease (AD) is that the initial AD pathology develops in situ while the patient is cognitively normal. This state has been classified as predementia AD or mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a condition in which patients are usually only moderately impaired in memory, with relative preservation of other cognitive domains.
