The objective of this study was to develop a questionnaire to assess the online sexual solicitation and interactions of minors with adults in order to document the extent of this problem. The questionnaire was constructed in four phases: (a) a review of the previous literature; (b) interviews with convicted online child-sex offenders; (c) a review of the questionnaire items by experts; and (d) a pilot study of the questionnaire administered to adolescents. The validation sample consisted of 2,731 minors (12-15 years old, 50.6% girls). Exploratory factor analysis revealed a two-factor structure. The first factor, called "sexual solicitation," included items referring to sexual requests from an adult to a minor. The second factor, termed "sexualized interactions," included items indicating an adult groomed a minor with the purpose of committing a sexual offense. Of participants, 12.6% reported sexual solicitations, and 7.9% reported sexualized interactions. These findings open possible directions for research on the characteristics and consequences of online sexual solicitation and abusive interactions.

To provide a miniature review of recent literature surrounding a brief history of syphilis, to discuss the recently increasing incidence of syphilis, to discuss recent United State Preventative Service Task Force recommendations for syphilis screening, and to discuss congenital syphilis. The literature review was conducting using PubMed with the following search terms: syphilis, congenital syphilis, MSM and syphilis, prenatal syphilis, neurosyphilis, and other related terms. Treponema pallidum has been a constant, and unwanted, companion of humankind since antiquity. This sexually transmitted infection (STI) has the potential to affect virtually every rung of society—young and old, rich and poor, but it has a proclivity for the most vulnerable groups among us. Since record high rates of infection in the World War II era, tremendous progress has been made in effectively controlling the infection, and this has been largely mediated by the efficacy of penicillin on the causative spirochete. However, 2014 data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention demonstrated a sharp increase in the rate of new cases of syphilis, predominantly in men who have sex with men. Additionally, the numbers of newly diagnosed cases of congenital syphilis are on the rise as well.In effect, a burgeoning crisis has come to the doorstep of the medical community. We are faced with changing attitudes regarding sexual interactions. The authors believe that geolocation dating and sex applications for smart phones increase the availability of sexual encounters. Pre-exposure prophylaxis may be leading to more laissez-faire attitudes toward unprotected intercourse, and with increased opportunities for sexual encounters, co-infected states with other diseases may be altering the landscape of STIs.In 2016, in response to increasing rates of newly diagnosed syphilis, the United States Preventative Health Services Task Force reaffirmed the need for syphilis screening in at-risk populations. However, primary care physicians and advanced practice providers may not always be aware of which patients fall into that category. Due to the highly personal nature of discussing sexuality, sexual behavior may not be explored at all.Numerous challenges lie ahead of the infectious diseases, primary care, and public health communities in attempting to bend the curve of the ascendant rise in syphilis. To adequately combat this infection, sufficient funding will need to be provided to public health departments, adequate access to health care resources will be needed to allow for the necessary screening of patients, and primary care practitioners will need thoroughly engage with their patients to understand their sexual practices and to offer the necessary interventions.

BackgroundHaving competence in initiating sexual interactions is one of the challenges of sexual health in any society. Given that the social, cultural, and religious background of some societies can prevent the acquisition of sexual competence in young women, this study will be done to design, implement, and determine the effectiveness of an intervention program to improve the sexual competence of young women on the eve of marriage.MethodsThe current research is a mixed-method study in a qualitative-quantitative sequence. In the first phase, a qualitative study will be conducted to explore the needs of sexual competence in young adult women about to get married and ways to improve it. Then, after the literature review and combining it with the results of the qualitative study, a draft of the intervention program will be developed. After reviewing the content of the program and validating it in the panel of experts, the final program will be developed. In the second phase, the effect of the program to promote the sexual competence of adult women about to get married will be determined in a quantitative study with a two-group quasi-experimental method.DiscussionProviding a comprehensive and practical intervention program to promote sexual competence based on cultural, social, and religious background can help to improve the quality of sexual interactions of young women about to get married, reduce harm caused by lack of sexual competence, and ensure women’s sexual health.

With advances in treatment modalities and medical knowledge, girls with congenital urologic disorders are living well into adulthood. Although, sexual and reproductive function in this population is still poorly understood. The aim is to review existing literature about fertility and sexuality in women with congenital genitourinary disorders, including spina bifida (SB), bladder exstrophy-epispadias complex (BEEC) and congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). This review represents the joint SIU-ICUD (Société Internationale d'Urologie-International Consultation on Urological Disease) consultation on congenital lifelong urology. The results of this analysis were first presented at a joint consultation of the SIU and ICUD at the 2018 SIU annual conference in Seoul, South Korea. Appropriate experts were asked to write specific sections regarding sexuality and reproductive function in female patients with these complex congenital urogenital disorders. Each expert performed their own literature review which was reviewed by GDW, AFS, Hadley M. Wood and Dan Wood. Expert opinion was obtained where data are non-existent. Only about half of the individuals with SB express a satisfactory sex life. In women with BEEC, cosmetic concerns surrounding genital appearance and function may increase psychological distress, including severe depression, suicide and sexual dysfunction. Professional health care is key for improving self-esteem and to interact in the biopsychosocial model of the quality of life. Patients with SB and BEEC should be informed about all the potential risks and difficulties before, during and after pregnancy. Screening for pelvic organ prolapse is important as it can exacerbate their already existing sexual dysfunction, difficulties achieving pregnancy and challenges with clean intermittent catheterization. Lifelong multidisciplinary follow-up and management are complex but necessary. As these patients grow into their adolescence, they may have the desire to become involved in personal relationships and have sexual interactions. Their healthcare team needs to be increasingly sensitive to these aspects.

HIV transmission among men who have sex with men (MSM) is still expanding globally. A wide myriad of factors that determine sexual risk practices assumption have been identified. Traditional masculine gender norms have been indicated as a possible determinant of risk practices performance among MSM. To identify how quantitative and mixed research values masculinities and their role in HIV transmission practices, a literature review was conducted. Results found that quantitative and mixed research highlighted situations related to HIV transmission in three areas: factors influencing perception and motivations for risk practices engagement; environmental influences facilitating risk taking and the description of new ways to take risks. Quantitative and mixed research took into account masculinity only related to hegemonic traits, both in the risk situations explanations described in the studies and in the measurement instruments used. Although interest on masculinity as a determinant of risk practices in research is increasing, appropriate tools to measure and analyze how masculinity is playing in these arenas are limited and tend to homogenize traits related to masculinity. New approaches, regarding the diversity of masculinities, identity constructions and different sexual interaction ways, as unequal and power relations among men, are needed to better understand and frame HIV transmission among MSM.

Paraplegia does not seriously impair marital functioning according to a critical review of the English-language literature from the last three decades on the marital impact of adult-onset paraplegia. The review focuses on what is currently known about three aspects of marital functioning in paraplegics: marital stability, sexual interaction and marital satisfaction. The discussion highlights implications for health care personnel who advise or counsel paraplegic patients or their spouses about marital concerns.

Behavioral patterns of inter-crab communications as shown in agonistic and sexual interactions are investigated in 26 genera within 9 aquatic and semi-terrestrial families of brachyurans. The investigation includes a review of literature and the author's observations. Species of the aquatic families, Dromiidae, Leucosiidae, Majidae, Parthenopidae, Cancridae, Portunidae, and Xanthidae, display agonistic activities mostly with more or less extended chelipeds. An encounter leads often to physical interactions, such as striking blows or grasping with chelae. Many of the semi-terrestrial ocypodids and grapsids, however, display with flexed chelipeds, showing the opponent the outer side of the chelae in a shield-like manner. Encounters usually follow a formalized set of patterns and only occasionally do they lead into a “wild fight”. Concerning sexual activities in many aquatic forms, a male catches and holds or cages a female between its legs for several days during the mating period. In many semi-terrestrial grapsids and ocypodids, patterns of up-down display of chelipeds have been observed during agonistic encounters, as well as during initial stages of mating. In other forms a special display of chelipeds occurs in courtship. In agonistic and sexual activities of aquatic forms intern-crab communication seems to depend mainly on tactile and possibly chemical stimuli. In the semi-terrestrial forms that have been investigated, mechanisms of communication are based predominantly on optical information.

Background: Adolescents are individuals, either man or woman, who are in the middle of a transition period between childhood and adult. Adolescence is a period when individuals seek interpersonal relationships and involved sexual activities. Number of adolescent who infected by HIV is increase. Some of adolescent do some risky activity like premarital sexual interaction. Premarital sex among adolescent can prevent by strengthening parent and adolescent relationship. Message for strengthening relationship between family members could be shared by movie and poster with different target. Movie was targeted for adolescent because high exposure of movie in adolescence, and poster developed for parent because parent want simple and understandable message and poster can provided that. Method: This research is qualitative study with 2 steps, first step is literature review method for need assessment in media. Review did in 13 Articles (4 books, 2 journals, 5 researches, one articles and one presentation) in adolescence, parent and media. Second step is developing health promotion media, started from developing prototype, pretest and revision prototype. Result: From this research was developed movie titled “jangan biarkan mereka sendiri”. This movie depict social realistic about parent who ignore their child and result from ignorance. Target of this movie is adolescent between 11 until 15 years old or early adolescence. Expectation of this movie is adore adolescent for discuss with their parent about reproductive health, sexuality and their problem about reproductive health and their development. Poster show discuss between parent and adolescent and suggestion for starting talk to adolescent, be supported unity between picture, text, colur and content. Expetation from developing this poster is parent can discuss with their child about repruductive health, eith result paren can provide appropriate information, attitude and value in reproductive health.

Online grooming is a manipulative process through which an adult attempts to arrange a sexual interaction with a minor using internet. Children are constantly exposed to the online world, posing online grooming as a public health issue. The aim of this narrative review is to describe the state of online grooming preventive strategies in recent literature through an overview of online grooming phenomenon. Our literature review included research articles and reviews published between January 2014 and March 2019, as well as reference lists of included studies. The analysis provides a picture of online grooming phenomenon, identify recurrent features of perpetrators and victims. Several preventive strategies have been implemented, but they lack any kind of efficacy evaluation and miss a theory driven approach. Fragmentation of preventive initiatives is a critical issue, in contrast with the need of an institutional public health strategy. While the attention around online grooming is growing, there is still the need of further sensitizing the involved stakeholders and developing evidence based preventive strategies under an institutional guidance.

IntroductionAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can both impact psychosexual functioning.ASD individuals may struggle with appropriate sexual interactions due to challenges in social communication, understanding social norms, and sensory sensitivities. Restricted and repetitive behaviors may also lead to a focus on specific sexualized behaviors.ADHD-related symptoms may impact psychosexual functioning. Impulsivity can lead to risky sexual behavior, while inattention may increase the risk of sexual dysfunction. Additionally, prescribed ADHD medication has been found to disrupt sexual functioning.ObjectivesOur aim is to better understand the psychosexual profile of neurodivergent individuals.MethodsA narrative review was carried out using various databases, including PubMed.ResultsLiterature suggests a higher prevalence of sexual ambivalence, as well as increased homosexual, bisexual, and asexual tendencies among ASD-individuals. They may also exhibit more inappropriate sexual behavior, which can put them at risk of legal consequences.Research suggests that ADHD-individuals may have a higher frequency of homosexual experiences and females with ADHD report greater ambivalence about their gender identity. ADHD is associated with risky sexual behaviors, but ADHD-medications may have a protective effect against early pregnancy and STIs.ConclusionsThe literature suggests that individuals with ADHD and/or ASD can lead to different psychosexual functioning compared to neurotypical peers.Further research is needed to understand the contributing factors.Disclosure of InterestNone Declared

Reproductive interference is interspecific sexual interactions that are costly to at least one species involved. Although many studies have reported a substantial fitness cost associated with reproductive interference, suggesting its ecological significance, others have not observed reproductive interference in study species. Reproductive interference that incurs a large fitness cost is more likely to occur during secondary contacts than between long‐coexisting species. I first explain the rationale underlying this prediction using existing literature. Next, I present a conceptual framework to classify pairs of interacting species into one of four states, defined by the ecological and evolutionary stabilities of the species pairs. I discuss how the stability states of species pairs are likely to change over time, along with changes in the demographic and evolutionary role of reproductive interference. I then perform literature survey to test the prediction that reproductive interference should be more prevalent in secondary contact. Finally, I discuss the implications of the proposed conceptual framework and literature survey result.
