Abstract

This article shows a gainful technique for designing an SSSC based damping controller utilizing a novel modified local input signal. The proposed signal can be derived by considering line active power. The design issue associated here is taken as an optimization problem and a novel hybrid shuffled frog-leaping & pattern search Algorithm (hSFLA–PS) algorithm is utilized to short out this issue. In order to show the matchless quality of the said methodology, at a first occasion a SMIB power system is considered the said input signal is compared with existing input signals. Furthermore, the genuine utilization of the hybrid algorithm is tried by designing multi-machine power system. From the performance comparison, it is recognized that the proposed hSFLA–PS based modified input signal is more efficacious compared to the other existing input signal.
