Abstract

A 41-year-old man with a prior ureteric stone presented to the emergency department with urinary retention and dysuria for 1 day. On physical examination, the patient was afebrile with a stable pulse rate and blood pressure. He experienced tenderness over the lower abdomen on palpation. His WBC count and serum creatinine level were normal. Additionally, urinalysis revealed microhematuria. Point-of-care ultrasound of the abdomen was performed (Figure 1 and Video E1 [available at http://www.annemergmed.com]), and the diagnosis was confirmed by computed tomography (Figure 2).
