Abstract

The paper presents a micromagnetic solver, where the long-range contributions to the magnetostatic field are computed by a multipole expansion technique and the spatial distribution of the exchange field is reconstructed via a finite difference scheme able to handle non-structured meshes. In this way, large samples having complex geometries can be simulated. The numerical accuracy, the computational efficiency and the flexibility of the proposed solver are investigated by comparison to standard approaches.
