Abstract
The category Modub C of left C-modules whose objects are covariant functors from a small category C to the category 2lb of abelian groups and whose morphisms are additive natural transformations of functors is well known to be abelian. In this paper, the Mayer-Vietoris sequence for the group cohomology of an amalgamated group is extended to a Mayer-Vietoris sequence for the cohomology of an amalgamated small category. That is, if C is the amalgamation of the categories C 1 and C 2and over the category D1 then the sequence is exact
